On Friday August 21, 2015, Mrs. Jackson’s 4th grade ELA class took a brain break and danced along with a video from www.gonoodle.com which featured a song about plate tectonics. Students and teachers use brain breaks during long stretches of class to get a short rest from the hard work. These movement based activities also fight against the sedentary lifestyle that often coincides with desk work. After 2 minutes of singing and dancing, students are ready to focus back on the lesson. Brain breaks are recommended for everyone regardless of age who find themselves working long hours sitting at a desk. Thank you Mrs. Jackson for setting a great example of not only working hard, but also taking care of the body!
