During the week of February 29, 2016, Bethune-Bowman Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Week in order to promote excitement for reading. There were planned activities for each day of the week which included Cat in the Hat Day, Crazy Sock Day, Dr. Seuss Shirt Day, Stuffed Animal Day, and Character Dress Up Day. There were also guessing jar games for students to win free books as well as a school wide parade on the Character Dress Up Day. We also had Jacqueline Jamison and Dr. Sharon Quin visit BBES to read to selected classrooms. The event was organized by Media Specialist Karen Wimberly and as always, it was a huge success!
