5th grade students at Bethune-Bowman Elementary School studied the Harlem Renaissance. As a culminating activity, students reenacted The Harlem Renaissance by having a Living History Museum. The Living History Museum gave students the opportunity to research prominent figures from the Harlem Renaissance Era and brings them to life. This project included a research and technology component, as well as an oratory component. The students had to dress in costume, create props and either recite a poem or share music and/or art work. The students were very excited about completing this project and it was a huge success!
